This nice volume just arrived: Religious Polemics and Encounters in Late Antiquity, Boundaries, Conversions, and Persuasion, edited by Timo Nisula, Anni Maria Laato and Pablo Irizar, published by Brill. In 2018, I took part in the conference organised by Timo Nisula and Anni Maria Laato in Åbo Akademi, and this volume is the offspring of this meeting.

The articles discuss the encounters, peaceful and polemical, between Jews and Christians, between Christians and pagans, between various Christian groups, between various philosophers. My own contribution is ”Mimus Religionis, Mimicry, and Deviance: Late Antique Polemic against Religious Others”. Mimus religionis is the expression of the Christian writer Lactantius.
