It is my great pleasure to announce that this volume edited by Sari Katajala-Peltomaa and Ville Vuolanto came out just recently:
Religious Participation in Ancient and Medieval Societies. Rituals, Interaction and Identity, in the series Acta Instituti Romani Finlandiae, that is, the series of the Finnish Institute in Rome.
The articles of the volume are based on the papers given in the conference Passages from Antiquity to the Middle Ages IV held in 2009.
My article ”Polluted by Sacrifices: Christian Repugnance at Participation in Sacrificial Rituals in Late Antiquity” discusses some of the issues concerning the continuation (or not) of sacrificial rituals in the fourth and fifth centuries.
