Authorities in the Middle Ages

It is my great pleasure to announce the publication of a new book,  Authorities in the Middle Ages. Influence, Legitimacy, and Power in Medieval Society, edited by Sini Kangas, Mia Korpiola and Tuija Ainonen (de Gruyter 2013).
The articles are based on papers of the international conference ”Seeing, Hearing, Reading and Believing. Authorities in the Middle Ages” held in Helsinki 2010.
My contribution is ”’But Our Customs are older’: The Authority of Antiquity in Late Antique Debates (in the Fourth and Fifth Centuries C.E.)”, thus the earliest of the early Middle Ages.
